From the moment you are born, you start meeting people that will eventually shape your life. First of all you see your family, mom and dad, brothers or sisters, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins. They are a huge part of your life and the ones that will probably do anything for you and that will always be there, no matter what. They are given and you cannot change that.

But, the minute you step outside your comfortable home and cosy environment, you meet people that may become friends. They are a gift that must be treasured, because they just “get it”. These are the persons that you see first at kindergarten, then in primary and secondary school, highschool, college and after that at work. They will always be around, everyday, and certain moments and events will change your feelings towards them, so they will eventually become friends and loved ones, not just people or acquaintances.

You will never know when someone might come into your life and what role they will have in your future decisions. The only thing you can figure out is that some will definitely be there for you, all your life.

Along my almost 26 years road in life, I’ve met a great deal of people. I can really say that I am blessed because I have people that I can trust with all my heart and there are people that trust me with their soul. This is one of the greatest gifts in someone’s life, a connection that can’t be explained, but that makes you a better person. Friendship is important, because it shows you who you are and who you can become; it helps build you as a person. True friends will always tell you what you’re doing wrong and what you’re good at, because they will want to help you become a better person.

I have friends who know exactly what I think and they will know exactly what I want to say before I open my mouth; friends who are so close to me, even though they are miles away. I have friends that will travel over oceans, seas and mountains, just to see me and surprise me on my birthday or any other normal day. Also I have, friends who will call me in the middle of the night, just to tell me that they missed hearing my voice; friends who’ll pop at my window to bring me chocolate when they know I’m not well. Some friends are the ones who will hug me with all their strength, just to reassure me that I’m going to be just fine. Basically people that make my life worth living and make all the moments in my life become amazing ones.

That’s why I would do anything for them, because I know that these are relationships worth counting on and worth having every day. When I’m writing this I can picture each of my friends, some will agree with this post, some may think that it reveals too much personal stuff.

All in all, I will always remember that I have friends that told me this: “Whenever you feel you can’t deal with something, and you get home tired from work, before you go to bed, look at the Moon and smile, because you’ll know I’ll do the same thing and think about you!

So every time I miss my crazy, loved, sarcastic and stubborn ones I look at the Moon and see their faces and I know they are here with me, although we have about 1500 miles between us.
