It’s the first day of December, and as the song says, it’s the most wonderful time of the year.

The end of the year is close, and until that happens we have some important things to settle. Maybe last year you’ve made a wish list, take it out and tick the things you’ve managed to do, or rewrite the things you wanted to do, but didn’t have enough time.

For me, the most important aspect was to be able to reorganize my life and start fresh. I wanted to move to another country, and I landed in Dublin. I had a few more wishes, like flying with a hot air balloon, or going to visit Barcelona; they didn’t happen, but I got something better instead. I found a person I can do these things with next year, so it’s a win-win situation, right?

Then, I wanted to boost my professional life, and I did, started learning Spanish, German, French and some Irish… Improved my English, I even got a bit of an Irish accent (some say)… Branding, management, marketing, business and all related fields are clearer now, because I did some reading about them as well.

I have made new friends and I kept all the important old ones, and I know that my heart and soul are grateful for all these emotions and all the happiness that is going on in my life right now…

Most important, my family members are healthy, my own blood relatives and the ones I got from my extended family… It’s a huge thing, isn’t it?

So, my letter to Santa will be something like this:

“Dear Santa

I can’t wish for anything this year, at least no material things… I just want health, peace and happiness for my entire family and my enormous group of friends.

Thank you for making 2013 the best year of my life so far, I guess “13” is a lucky one!”

Lots of love,

And let’s not forget that the Christmas “insanity” started from something greater than that… We tend to forget that, sometimes (mainly because most of us don’t believe in religious things anymore). The birth of Christ is the main reason we celebrate this, and we should take a moment to be thankful for what we have and what surrounds us. You don’t need to believe in God or anything, just think that you have a purpose here on Earth, and maybe there is something greater that keeps us alive and running… maybe there’s a bit of magic in the month of December… so let’s embrace it and be happy!

Or maybe it’s just me, being sentimental about Christmas and the lights, the joy and happiness, the enthusiasm on children’s faces, the more relaxed attitude people have (because a holiday is near)…

I really believe that December is one of the best months of the year, because you can re-think everything and if there is something you want to change or you want to do, you can find the energy to start reacting and actually make it happen.

So, enjoy this month and let’s give a very “warm” welcome to December!

Christmas time
